Addresses $25 Billion Global Problem in Managing Advanced Mobile Devices


Stratecast, industry analysts and market experts, together with InnoPath, the leader in Mobile Device Management (MDM), have developed a comprehensive tool for assessing the financial impact of mobile device management on network operations. Based on expansive and in-depth research, experience and analysis Stratecast concludes that using MDM within mobile operators’ customer care organizations could have a major impact on global operational and support costs in the range of $3 billion in 2009 to over $23 billion by 2013.

These are costs which cannot be contained without streamlining traditional methods of customer support for mobile devices.”


Using MDM, customer care representatives both on the phone and in the store can view a customer’s handset configuration and quickly understand what is missing, incorrect, or out-of-date. Following identification of the problem, a solution can be immediately applied Over the Air (OTA) without any intervention from the customer. This streamlines the customer support process, creating efficiencies that reduce the number and length of support contacts and in turn results in tremendous cost savings. Stratecast and InnoPath predict that these cost savings, when applied to an average North American operator (with 70 million subscribers), would result in a total savings of $2 billion dollars over five years.


Proving the ROI for MDM-delivered customer care is critical as the device management market evolves from “point products” to end-to-end solutions that address the true extent of operator requirements. Customer care is strategic to wireless operators and as these expenses grow operators will look to vendors with proven operational expertise, technical leadership, and financial stability to help contain escalating costs. Operational Simplicity: Minimize Complexity, Cost and Risk


The SRX dynamic services gateways run on JUNOS software to deliver unmatched carrier-grade reliability and operational simplicity. SRX 5600 and 5800 Dynamic Services Gateways


Juniper Networks SRX 5600 and 5800 dynamic services gateways are ideally suited for large enterprise and service provider networks. The SRX 5800 dynamic services gateway can support more than 120 Gbps of stateful firewall and up to 30 Gbps of IPS, as well as 350,000 connections per second. Each SRX deployment can be tailored to the specific network requirements, enabling the SRX 5800 to be configured to support more than 400 Gbps interfaces with choices of Gigabit Ethernet or 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports. The scalability of the SPCs and input/output cards (IOC) is enabled by the terabit speed fabric employed in the dynamic services gateways, which allows for massive scale of Ethernet ports and services processing. The SRX 5600 dynamic services gateway uses the same SPCs and IOCs as the SRX 5800 and can support up to 60 Gbps of stateful firewall and 15 Gbps IPS.

Pricing and Availability


The SRX 5600 and 5800 dynamic services gateways are available today. The base list price for the SRX 5600 chassis starts at USD 65,000 while the list price of the SRX 5800 chassis starts at USD 68,000. The list price for the services processing cards and input/output cards start at USD 100,000. The SRX 5600 and 5800 are expected to be in evaluation for Common Criteria EAL3 certification later this year.
