Optelian Achieves TL9000 Registration

Optelian is pleased to announce that TL 9000 registration has been awarded in recognition of Optelian’s Quality Management System conforming to TL 9000 standards for processes used in the design, development and manufacture of optical transmission systems.

As an extension of ISO9001:2000 for the telecommunications industry, TL 9000 assures telecom

purchasers that the registrant has met the highest quality standards in the industry and reduces the need for them to do their own vendor quality audits.

“Our success in achieving this goal is due to the tremendous dedication and teamwork of everyone in at Optelian,” said Louise Boyling, Director, Corporate Quality and Administration. “The TL 9000 registration and audit process was straightforward for us as our business processes have always been closely aligned with our corporate values of providing superior quality products and service”.

“TL 9000 registration is external recognition of our on-going commitment to product quality and our

pursuit of continuous improvement,” said David Weymouth, President, Optelian.

Optelian’s TL 9000 registration was done by BSI Management Systems Canada . BSI is a global provider of assessment, certification, and training for management systems implementations. BSI is accredited by ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and Standards Council of Canada (SCC) for TL 9000 standards.

Optelian provides optical transport systems for telecom, multi-service operator (MSO), utility, and enterprise customers worldwide. Since 2002, the world’s largest telecommunications network operators have been choosing Optelian for product reliability, quick delivery, custom designs, and great service.

Optelian’s carrier-grade system, LightGAIN, saves power and is easy to use. Compact LightGAIN systems support a full range of optical transport applications in all segments of the network.

Optelian sales, service, and marketing are based in Marietta, Georgia; development and manufacturing are based in Ottawa, Ontario, with offices, partners, and resellers worldwide.
