ATLANTIC METRO COMMUNICATIONS PARTNERS WITH WAYPOINT TELECOMMUNICATIONS TO EXPAND ITS NETWORK AND SERVICES WITHIN THE MID-WEST

NEW YORK, NY and East Lansing, MI May 4, 2009: Atlantic Metro Communications, a recognized SAS 70 managed network and service provider offering dark fiber and nation-wide colocation and IP transit, together with Waypoint Telecommunications, a regional facilities-based carrier in the Mid-West, announce a partnership that will leverage each company’s complimentary network services to expand their network reach within the Mid-West region. Atlantic Metro customers will have the ability to access Waypoint’s network footprint that spans five states in the Mid-West, connecting key business centers, including Grand Rapids, MI; Cleveland, OH; Indianapolis, Indiana; St. Louis, MO; and Chicago, IL. In addition, Waypoint will add a Point of Presence (PoP) within Atlantic Metro’s Chicago managed colocation facility, located at 350 East Cermak Road, which will also be an access point for Waypoint’s new metro fiber ring on Atlantic Metro’s Chicago metro fiber network.

“By partnering with Waypoint, we have extended our footprint to major Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in the Mid-West and can now provide further network reach to companies that require quality network and Internet services in the region,” commented Stephen Klenert, CEO of Atlantic Metro. “Waypoint’s network is an ideal fit for Atlantic Metro since it too is a network that is owned through the combination of custom build-outs, acquired assets and IRU leases.”

“Atlantic Metro will have access to Waypoint’s network to offer transport services that range from DS1/T1 up to OC192 and 10Gig SONET and Ethernet Private Lines to over 50 PoPs, including Carrier Hotels, ILECs, and Central Offices throughout the Mid-West,” added Pete Empie, Chief Operating Officer of Waypoint. “In addition, Atlantic Metro is providing Waypoint and our customers access to quality managed colocation services as well as an extension of our network reach within the Chicago metro market.”

“Our partnership with Waypoint enables both companies to leverage its own best -of-breed network services,” continued Stephen Klenert. “Our customers will benefit by each company’s ability to offer an expanded footprint that will help meet network requirements for businesses in the region and beyond.”
