Hospitality Consulting Services Chooses Clasix to Provide its TravelSuite Multimedia family of Services including TravelTalk, TravelConnect, TravelVision, and TravelExchange.
Hospitality Consulting Services (HCS), an International technology and telecommunications consulting company serving the hospitality industry, has teamed with Clasix, Inc., as a preferred partner, to develop and deploy IP based voice, high-speed Internet access, and video solutions for hotels worldwide, over Clasix’s dual stack IPv6/IPv4 hospitality focused network.
“HCS is very excited about the new technology that Clasix has developed to allow the deployment of IP based Voice, High-Speed Internet Access, and TV/Video services in a hotel environment,” said Tom Mayer, president of Hospitality Consulting Services. “One of our biggest challenges has been to find a single company like Clasix that can deploy all of these services on one network using the Next Generation IPv6 platform, with IPv4 layered on the same network to allow for ongoing support and migration of current IPv4 applications. This way our hotels are investing in their future, but can implement at their own pace, and IPv6 will be there and ready when they want to migrate.”
HCS has witnessed telephone revenues in hotels virtually diminish over the last five years. Today less than 3% of the hotel guests are using the hotel’s telephone system to make outgoing calls, opting mostly to use their mobile phones instead. HCS has been working with hotels initially in Europe, where high cellular roaming rates have created an opportunity again for the hotels to offer a competitive program that would save their guests substantial cellular costs, and would create new revenues for the hotels to help offset the fixed cost of providing telephone service to every guest bedroom.
Mr. Mayer also remarked, “It is interesting that when I first promoted the concept for the TravelTalk flat rate calling program in 2005, I did so out of a request by hotels to reduce costs and to generate telephone revenue. But in today’s current challenging economic environment, I am now getting requests from hotel groups, owners, sales and marketing directors, and revenue managers, to use the low cost, high quality TravelTalk solution to bundle as a feature of a room package to provide tremendous value. For a few dollars a day, a hotel can provide a guest the TravelTalk service that could save the guest anywhere from $100-$300 for the same number of minutes if they were roaming on their mobile phone. This can be a huge competitive advantage when trying to attract and keep their corporate clients and to reinforce customer loyalty.”
HCS was very happy to be instrumental in recommending TravelTalk to the Hyatt Regency Paris – Charles de Gualle, and to work with Clasix and the hotel’s very progressive management team to implement the TravelTalk service. The service is seamlessly interfaced with the hotel’s current telephone system (PBX) and property management system (PMS) using carrier grade switching equipment and protective fault tolerant fail over design to protect against any service interruptions..
HCS also commented, “We see potential future benefits to our hotels to improve guest services and to reduce costs by having the 100 Mbps Clasix IPv6/IPv4 dual stack Fiber network installed into their hotel. They are implementing what will be the future today, so that any money spent on technology upgrades can be done so with IPv6 applications in mind. But with the dual stack network engineered by Clasix, they can also migrate from IPv4 applications to IPv6 when they are ready to do so, not having to change our all of their systems at once if they were going strictly to the IPv6 protocol for everything.”
HCS is currently working with international hotels where they can benefit from having the Clasix TravelSuite applications and network installed in their hotels to provide TravelTalk, TravelExchange, TravelConnect, and TravelVision services, and into the hotels’ data centres where they can benefit from the 100 Mbps IPv6 private secure network to run hosted applications. The hotels will also have more security and options for controlling many more devices with unlimited IP addresses available through the new IPv6 platform.
The main difference with Clasix is that they are actually the network Internet Service Provider as well as the applications service provider within the hotel, so the hotel has the benefit of working with one company and to truly run on a high quality converged network with all of their voice, Internet , TV/video, corporate network and hosted applications. It is really an exciting time to be the first company to offer these solutions to the Hospitality industry from one provider.
