XConnect Partners with GSMA To Extend Advanced IP Routing Options

XConnect, the VoIP and NGN interconnection leader, today is formally announcing a groundbreaking interoperability agreement with the GSM Association (GSMA) regarding number registry and translation services.


The new arrangement gives service providers more opportunities to route revenue-generating, IP-based multimedia services, such as HD voice and video, between fixed and mobile networks.

In case of a natural disaster Suddenlink customers in the east can now rest easier knowing that their communications are even more survivable due to recently deployed carrier voice and multimedia solutions provided by Nortel* [OTC: NRTLQ] Carrier VoIP and Application Solutions (CVAS).

Earlier this year, Suddenlink enhanced its network with Nortel’s Communication Server (CS) 2000 geo-survivable configuration to split switch equipment across two locations. The benefit of this configuration is that if a disaster, such as a hurricane or fire, were to affect one location, the switch equipment at the other location can take over and keep service up without affecting any active calls or reducing the network’s existing capacity.
