Optus/SingTel chooses mdi for 10Gbps network monitoring

mdi (Monitoring Division Inc.), the leader in real-time network monitoring and intelligence, announced today it has received orders for commercial deployment of its groundbreaking ‘eyeD 360′ network monitor from Optus, the division of SingTel in Australia. As part of the qualification process, mdi is now an approved supplier to SingTel, receiving accelerated acceptance due to the system’s uniqueness in the industry.

mdi is exhibiting its systems and publishing a case study on the carrier’s evaluation experience during the European Conference on Communications (ECOC 2009) this week in Vienna, Austria. During the event, mdi is launching a single-port version of its four-in-one impairment monitor to meet demand in the Test & Measurement market for multi-purpose platforms. To facilitate access to its unique product, mdi also announced the appointment of Infractive as its first European Master Distributor. Headquartered in Paris, Infractive will focus on joint sales and support in France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.

Trevor Anderson, mdi CTO, will present on Optical Performance Monitoring for Intelligent Networks at 9:30am on Thursday, September 24 at ECOC.
