Ciena implements practical wholesale services solution for premier carrier in the Carolinas
LINTHICUM, Md. – January 13, 2010 – Ciena® Corporation (NASDAQ: CIEN), the network specialist, today announced that PalmettoNet, a provider of point-to-point, metro access and collocation services across digital fiber optic networks in the Carolinas and Georgia, has deployed the CN 4200® RS FlexSelect® Advanced Services Platform with reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) functionality, along with other products in Ciena’s CN 4200 family. PalmettoNet is using Ciena’s CN 4200 platform to increase its network capacity and create a more agile optical service infrastructure featuring remotely-programmable wavelengths and service ports, multiservice flexibility and intelligent service provisioning to reduce operational costs.

Telmar Network Technology Repair Facility is First to Achieve TL 9000 Certification in India
PLANO, Texas, January 12, 2010 – Telmar Network Technology announced that it has achieved the first TL 9000 certification for an independent repair company in India. The India repair facility joins Telmar’s other facilities around the world that have completed the TL 9000 certification requirements.
The Manesar, India, facility opened in early 2009, achieved ISO (International Standards Organization) certification, the first milestone toward TL 9000 certification, within three months of operational startup, and completed the entire certification within six months.
