San Mateo, CA – January 4, 2010 – Wavesat Inc., a leading supplier of broadband wireless semiconductor solutions, today announced that Anil Barot has joined the company as Vice President of Business Development. In this role, Mr. Barot will oversee sales and marketing efforts with 4G service providers, end user device manufacturers and channel partners around the globe and will work closely with Wavesat’s engineering and product development teams.

At Motorola, Mr. Barot served in numerous leadership roles, including Global Product Management, Business Development and Product Strategy for Wireless Broadband Access Technologies (LTE & WiMAX). Immediately prior to joining Wavesat, he held the position of Senior Director of Motorola’s Broadband Strategy & Ecosystem Alliances — including silicon, consumer devices and network infrastructure solutions. He was instrumental in the successful restructuring of Motorola’s 3G product portfolio to improve competitive position and drive profitable growth of the worldwide 3G business. He also managed business development and marketing of 3G devices in the consumer product segment of the mobile devices business unit.

“Anil has a wealth of broadband wireless experience and a significant record of achievement and we’re delighted that he has joined the team,” said Raj Singh, Wavesat President and CEO. “This year and the next is a critical time period for the rollout of LTE and other 4G services and Anil will help us grow our relationships with device manufacturers, network operators and other important players in this industry.”

“I plan to build upon the positive momentum that Wavesat has created over the years with the introduction of LTE and the favorable market response to the Odyssey series of 4G processors,” said Mr. Barot. “The company sees a number of phenomenal opportunities across the 4G landscape and I look forward to contributing to the company and expand its growing customer base.”

Mr. Barot holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign and an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University with a focus on Marketing, Finance & Strategy.
