Suddenlink Selects Nortel Carrier Voice and Multimedia Solutions to Deliver Geo-survivable Communication Services

cvasgraphic.PNGNew “Self-Healing” Capabilities Keep Suddenlink Customers Connected During Emergencies

In case of a natural disaster Suddenlink customers in the east can now rest easier knowing that their communications are even more survivable due to recently deployed carrier voice and multimedia solutions provided by Nortel* [OTC: NRTLQ] Carrier VoIP and Application Solutions (CVAS).

Earlier this year, Suddenlink enhanced its network with Nortel’s Communication Server (CS) 2000 geo-survivable configuration to split switch equipment across two locations. The benefit of this configuration is that if a disaster, such as a hurricane or fire, were to affect one location, the switch equipment at the other location can take over and keep service up without affecting any active calls or reducing the network’s existing capacity. This availability will help to provide greater peace of mind to Suddenlink customers across West Virginia and North Carolina.
