Cisco TelePresence to improve employee collaboration and reduce operational costs

Cisco and Orange Business Services today announced that Single Buoy Moorings, a multinational group of companies that provides systems and services to the oil and gas industry, has chosen Cisco TelePresence™ to help increase efficiency and reduce costs associated with its business operations.

The oil and gas industry is highly competitive and Single Buoy Moorings’ ability to foster innovation, increase employee productivity and reduce operational costs is a critical aspect of its business. An all-inclusive Cisco TelePresence implementation managed by Orange Business Services will help Single Buoy Moorings meet these challenges by allowing employees to collaborate effectively on projects and capitalize on the talent it has across the organization irrespective of location. It will also help reduce the amount of time spent and costs associated with business travel and reduce the related carbon emissions.

Innovation is the lifeblood of our organization. We continually look for new ways to improve productivity, quality and decrease the time it takes to bring systems and products to market, said Guillaume Ramey, IT & IS manager, Single Buoy Moorings. With Cisco TelePresence we have found a solution that recreates the immersive experience of face-to-face meetings, helping us to transform our business by changing the way teams collaborate on projects, reduce the amount of travel, and ultimately enhancing the services we deliver to our customers.

Orange Business Services is providing a fully-managed solution including project management, consultancy, deployment, network services, and operational management. Single Buoy Moorings’ telepresence traffic will be carried on the Orange IP VPN, the world’s largest Telepresence-enabled network, which holds Certified Cisco TelePresence Connection (CCTC) status, which is based on stringent performance requirements vital to a successful Telepresence experience.

Single Buoy Moorings has deployed the Cisco TelePresence System 3000 in Houston (USA), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Monaco, and Schiedam (Netherlands) which delivers an advanced, high definition meeting experience with superior audio and video capabilities, allowing employees in different countries to meet as if they were working in the same office. This implementation demonstrates that the company IT network can serve as a platform to improve every aspect of its communications and business operations.

Editor’s note

Cisco TelePresence delivers real-time, face-to-face interactions between people and places in their work and personal lives using advanced visual, audio, and collaboration technologies. These technologies transmit life-size, high-definition images and spatial discrete audio. Now it’s easier than ever to discern facial expressions for those crucial business discussions and negotiations across the virtual table. Orange Business Services receives World Record Award in customer satisfaction

orange

Paris, April 23, 2009

Orange Business Services received the World Record Award from Telemark as the operator that has contributed the most to raising the bar, driving up customer satisfaction to levels that exceed the previous record which Orange Business Services previously set last year. In addition, Orange Business Services is recognized by Telemark with the Personal Best Award, setting an industry-leading 15 New Personal Bests, and receiving 12 Gold Awards for outstanding levels of customer satisfaction.

In the latest Telemark Global Data VPN Raising the Bar report, Orange Business Services sets World Records and New Personal Bests in the following seven categories:

*Secure Date Transfer / Network Reliability / Network Availability / Network Operation / Adequate Data Throughput / Single Point of Contract / 3rd Party Equipment Integration.

Orange Business Services receives the Personal Best Award for raising its personal bar by the highest factor of any operator. New Personal Bests were set in the seven World Record categories as well as eight additional categories:

*Geographical Reach End to End / No Hidden Extras in Bill / Long term Relationship / Understanding requirements / Meeting Requirements / Accurate Bills / Billing/ Understanding Tariffs.

In addition, Orange Business Services achieves Gold Awards in six World Record categories (except for 3rd party equipment integration) as well as in six additional categories:

*Installation Guarantees / Indispensable to Customers / Installation Not Disrupting / Long Term Relationship / Operational Guarantees / Geographical Reach End to End.

According to Janet Watkin, director at Telemark, said: We define the World Bar as the highest ever recorded Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) score on each of the 41 events we measure in the customer data VPN service experience. Each time a service provider exceeds the historical best ever score, by the highest margin, a New World Record is set. The Service Provider, who raises the bar the most, across all events, receives the World Record Award. We encourage all the global service providers to set new standards in satisfaction levels and we congratulate Orange Business Services on its remarkable achievements in this area.

Orange Business Services modernizes Etex’s network infrastructure

Brussels and Paris, Oct. 15, 2008

Orange Business Services modernizes Etex’s network infrastructure

convergent MPLS network with Business Talk Global, Network Boost and Business Everywhere provides flexibility and efficient cost management

Orange Business Services has signed a 3-year contract with Etex, an industrial holding company specializing in building materials, to implement a fully managed convergent network in combination with telephony, network management and business application management. The solution will be used at all sites of the Etex European Business Material Division.

With this new partnership, Etex aims to maintain its competitive advantage in order to optimize its business-critical applications and to further develop its high-performing IT platform. The network implemented by Orange Business Services will provide Etex the following benefits:

Convergence: a network ready for the future The network at Etex is convergent, which means that voice and data can run on the same network. A network standardized this way eliminates fragmentation and promotes efficient cost management. In addition, Etex will be able to migrate to VoIP or LAN VPN more easily.

Business Talk Global: more flexibility and lower costs A particularly interesting aspect of the network solution at Etex is the fact that Orange Business Services Business Talk Global is integrated into the network. This solution enables standardization and optimization of telephony services while simultaneously reaping considerable cost savings. Together with the convergent network, it will form the basis for an IPT infrastructure as well as a fixed-to-mobile solution.

Network Boost:
management solution for application performance The integrated Network Boost solution allows Etex clear insight into the use of its network by business application, location and user group. This solution enables Etex to proactively manage, prioritize and optimize business applications that run on its network in real time.

Business Everywhere™: mobility for people on the go Business Everywhere™ offers mobile employees an easy, secure way to access the Internet and business applications.

We were looking for a flexible network partner who could offer us network standardization, monitoring and control at the application level and proactive error monitoring for the end user, said Walter Van De Wiele, managing director of Manasco - the IT business unit of the European Business Material division of the Etex Group. It was primarily the technical quality of the network, the network reach and the extensive service offering that ultimately made us choose Orange Business Services.

Jeroen Van Brussel, country manager and managing director of Orange Business Services Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg, said: We are delighted with Etex’ confidence in us and that we are able to meet their needs. Stability and efficient management of business-critical applications are of crucial importance when it comes to this. The acquisition of this contract underscores the success of our own business strategy and the quality and expertise of our employees.
