Aptilo Guest Internet Services: Hosted Wireless Guest Internet Access for Large Global Enterprises

STOCKHOLM – January 29, 2009 – Aptilo Networks, the global leader in integrated management solutions for control of billing, user services and access in WiMAX™ and Wi-Fi networks, has launched Aptilo Guest Internet Services™, a secure, next-generation wireless Guest Internet Access solution for multinational companies and large domestic corporations looking to provide temporary Internet access for visitors, whether at a single large campus or across multiple office locations.

Aptilo Guest Internet Services is a hosted, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution.  It is currently deployed with several Fortune 500 companies including global telecom and information technology leaders.

“We are proud to be one of the very few vendors that can offer this kind of service on a global scale,” said Torbjorn Ward, chief executive officer, Aptilo Networks.  “This is a proven solution that delivers secure guest Internet access to some of the world’s largest corporations. New enterprise customers will benefit from this best practices development.”

Aptilo Guest Internet Services utilizes a company’s existing wireless infrastructure to extend the benefits of Internet connectivity to contractors, customers and business partners while complying with corporate security and legal policies.  Its flexibility makes it uniquely suited for global multi-site deployments, across a variety of types of offices and each with its own distinct infrastructure.

For enterprises that prefer to take the operation in-house (either at the start of the installation or at a later stage), Aptilo offers the same functionality as a software license via the Aptilo Guest Internet Access System™.

Both Aptilo solutions work seamlessly with any standard Wi-Fi infrastructure products. Aptilo has conducted extensive interoperability testing and made the necessary adaptations for different wireless access points and access point controllers allowing deployment in heterogeneous networks with equipment from many different vendors, including the leading vendors in the enterprise segment Aruba, Cisco and HP Procurve.
