Supercomm - Transmode Unveils 10G Muxponder for High-Capacity Mobile Backhaul, NGN, Packet Services

Transmode extends Multi-Service Muxponder technology to 10G for high-capacity Mobile Backhaul and NGN Services

Supercomm, Chicago and Stockholm, Sweden – 20th October 2009 – Transmode, a leading provider of optical networking solutions, today announced the launch of its next generation 10G Multi-Service Muxponder targeted for Mobile Backhaul and other Next Generation Network (NGN) migration applications.

The new 10G Multi-Service Muxponder (MS-MXP/10G) is ideally suited to both mobile backhaul applications and NGN migration projects within fixed networks where both legacy TDM traffic is required in parallel with Ethernet traffic. The MS-MXP/10G allows operators to economically and flexibly transport multiple services on the same 10G wavelength. All services are transported totally transparently, including network synchronization, which simplifies the network structure and OAM procedures.

The MS-MXP/10G extends Transmode’s existing and widely deployed Intelligent WDM (iWDMâ„¢) Multi-Service technology to 10 Gbit/s of capacity and is part of Transmode’s successful more

Supercomm/Cable-Tec - Transmode Debuts Fiber-Based 3G/4G Backhaul in US - Creating Wholesale Opportunities for Carriers

Transmode’s Mobile Backhaul Solution creates wholesale opportunities for US Carriers

Stockholm, Sweden – 20th October 2009 – Transmode, a leading provider of optical networking solutions, will present its new Multi-Service Mobile Backhaul Solution for the first time in the US – at both Supercomm (Chicago, October 21-23, booth 2809) and SCTE Cable Tec Expo (Denver, October 28-30).

The Multi-Service Mobile Backhaul Solution is a unique WDM over fiber solution providing “hybrid” native support of both TDM and Ethernet traffic and supports multiple synchronization streams per wavelength. It therefore enables a smooth migration to Ethernet or all-IP backhaul networks and cost effective support of 3G and LTE multimedia service rollouts.

The presentation of the Multi-Service Mobile Backhaul Solution’s to the US market is intended to generate interest from the MSOs as well as from ILECs, CLECs and IOCs. The solution is particularly more

Ekinops Introduces a Multi-Protocol ADM Solution for Converged Traffic Transport Using Only a Single Wavelength and a Single Fiber

PARIS, October 16, 2009 – Ekinops, a leading optical transport vendor for service providers and enterprises, has introduced a multi-protocol/multi-rate ADM (add/drop multiplexing) capability that will dramatically reduce the cost of aggregating converged traffic in business Ethernet, triple-play, wireless backhaul, and broadband backhaul applications.

This solution allows for many different protocols (uncompressed video, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, SONET/SDH) and many different rates (ranging from as low as 10/100 or OC-3/STM-1) to be aggregated over a single 10G wavelength from multiple sites. In addition, this capability can utilize Ekinops’ high-density single fiber capability to cut infrastructure costs in half.

This capability can be used in ring and linear configurations. In addition, the Ekinops solution requires far fewer service cards to achieve aggregation of multiple service types.

Alternative transport solutions require as much as an additional wavelength for each service type, but thanks to Ekinops’ unique DynaMux® dynamic multiplexing capability, the Ekinops more
