Reliance, Yipes CMO turns VC
S. Keao Caindec, the former chief marketing officer of Reliance Globalcom, has left the India-based global carrier to join venture capital firm Panorama Capital.
Panorama was one of the main sources of VC funding for Yipes Enterprise Services, where Caindec was also CMO before the US company was acquired by Reliance in 2007.
“I truly believe that another wave of innovation is coming as we brace for the profound impact of cloud computing, [software-as-a-service] and mobile networking,” Caindec, now Panorama’s “entrepreneur in residence,” said in an email today. “With server blades being put into routers, I think we’ll see a powerful new set of capabilities that derive from switching, routing, acceleration, web servers and other applications on a single device.”
Formed in 2005 by former members of JP Morgan’s VC arm, Panorama focuses on life sciences and technology firms. Its team includes Cisco veteran Allan Leinwand and former Digital Island executive Christopher Albinson.
